About Me

I have always loved writing and travelling, so when we were posted to Ramallah and Jerusalem I decided to concentrate on writing my travel memoir Bombs and Bougainvillea. The book is a personal account of life lived and observed both in Israel and in the Palestinian Occupied Territories. I had the opportunity to meet and get to know Israelis and Palestinians, and to enjoy their food, celebrations , culture and ways of life.  Bombs and Bougainvillea was awarded first place for a non-fiction book by the Scottish Association of Writers in 2018.

My second book, Impressions of Andalucia  was published in February 2023. It is a hardback coffee table art book which showcases  over 80 new watercolour paintings by the British artist Peter Lawrence. 

I divide my time between our homes in Edinburgh
